2014 marked several successes for FASfacts. We recently welcomed the appointment of Dr Lizahn Cloete (Chief Occupational Therapist & Lecturer: University of Stellenbosch) as our new chairperson and Rev. Jurie van Rooy as Deputy Chair. These appointments follow the retirement of former Chair, Mrs Franci Lemboe, after serving as our chairperson for over 11 years. We thank her for her service and the valuable contribution she made to the organisation and wish her a well-deserved break.

To support our vision of all children being born without Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, we increased our campaigns to reach more of our at-risk communities and now have a larger footprint of mentors and facilitators in both the Western and Northern Cape that provide an early intervention and educational service.

This would not have been possible without the generous support from our donor partners and we acknowledge the influence their contributions made in our communities.

Lastly, I wish all our staff, loyal volunteers, donors, partners, and friends a blessed festive season. May you have the gift of faith, the blessing of hope, and the peace of love at Christmas and in the New Year!
